Installation Password Recovery

Installation failed.
Occasionally, you may experience installation failure after downloading. Usually it is caused by file corruption during the downloading process. Simply download again and it should solve the problem.

I have installed CtrlPass on a new computer. How do I transfer data from an old computer to the new computer?
First, export CtrlPass data from the old computer to a plain text file and save it on a USB flash drive by clicking on the Export button on the main screen. Then, you plug in the USB flash drive in the new computer and load it to CtrlPass by clicking the Import button on the main screen.

Be Sure to delete the plain text file from your USB flash driver!

How to setup my email account to send a passcode to myself.
If you have an email account such as yahoo mail, gmail, hotmail, etc., you can configure it in Ctrlpass to send a passcode to yourself, your email account will be used to send and receive the passcode. To setup, first, open the Options window by clicking on the Options button on the main screen. Then, select the Password tab and fill in information:

  • Mail Server - It is a URL to SMTP server. Select one from the Mail Server drop-down list box. If you don't see your email provider, you can find the information on the Internet or talk to your email service provider to find it out.
  • Port - The port for the mail server, usually 587.
  • My Email Address - Your email address registered in the mail server, for example, myemail@yahoo.com.
  • User Id - Your email user ID, for example, myemail.
  • Password - The password you use to access your email.
Click on the Test button and you should see a test email in your inbox if the setting is done correctly. Don't forget to click on the Save button to save your setting!

How to setup a Bluetooth phone to recive a passcode.
If you see a Blue-White Bluetooth icon on the main screen, you can setup up to 3 Bluetooth phones for receiving a passcode. First, you need to make sure that the Bluetooth in your phone is on, then click on the Options button on the main screen to open the Options window and select Password tab. At the bottom part of the Options window, click on the Add button which will lead you adding a Bluetooth phone.
